Last week in kindergarten we learned the sound for the letter W.  This week we are learning about the sound for the letter Y.  We only have three letters left to learn: X, Z, and E.

In math we are finishing up a unit about teen numbers and showing how they are ten and some more using ten frames.  This week we will begin a unit on representing, counting and writing numbers 20 and up.

In writer's workshop we will begin working on How-To books.  In these books the students will teach the reader how to do something they know how to do by teaching them all the steps.

We will also be talking about CORRECT and what each of the letters stands for.  Al the puppet will be back this week to share more about character education with the kindergartners.  Today the kindergarteners went to the NED assembly.  Ask your child if they can tell you what the letters stand for.  N = Never give up, E = Encourage others and D = Do your best.
