Last week in Kindergarten we learned about beavers!  We will continue to learn about more pond animals.  Eventually we will make a book about all of the animals we have learned.

In math we are really working on learning addition and subtraction problems.  We are trying to increase our speed with figuring out different math problems.

We will not meet in our small guided reading groups this week because I will be doing individual assessments.  I am going to have your children bring home books to read in their bags.  They may need some extra help trying to read the book since we are not meeting in our small groups.

In science this past week we learned about frogs.  We learned about what different kinds of frogs can look like and we talked about how frogs have different characteristics that help them live.  We even made our own frogs to look and feel smooth like real frogs.

In math we learned a few games and even made our own hundreds chart.  Your child should be starting to  count up to numbers above 100.

In reading we have really been working hard on using our strategies to figure out words we don't know.  Last week we learned about skip it the frog.  He taught us that if we get to a tricky word, we should skip it and go back to the word when we get to the end of the sentence.
