I hope everyone enjoyed the snow days!  We did not get to practice many new things this week in Kindergarten, but next week we will be learning a new letter.  We will work on the sound for the letter Vv.  We will also continue to work on sounding out three letter words.

In math this week we began talking about shapes and their attributes.  Next week we will continue to talk about shapes.  We will also continue to think about adding and subtracting as well as counting to 100.

In writing workshop we learned to use checklists to help us make sure we include everything in the books that we are writing.

Hopefully we will get a chance to send guided reading books home next week.  So far in reading we learned that Eagle Eye reminds us to look at the picture when we get to a tricky word and Lips tells us to get our lips ready for the first sound when we get to a tricky word.

In social studies we started talking about our country and symbols that represent our country.  Next week we will work hard on learning The Pledge of Allegiance and what it really means.  Kindergarteners will be able to volunteer to recite it over the announcements throughout the rest of the school year.
